Navigation: Basic chart work, True and Magnetic, variation, hand bearing compass, scaling, chart use, plotting by estimated position and by calculation

CQM: close quarter work in the marina

Helm intro: Trainees on the helm as part of seamanship work before operational assessement. At sea running a compass course/straight track, bucket and helm controls in turning, introduction to collision regs
